Italian Villa Tour

I love shutters that actually serve their purpose.

As soon as you walk inside, this is what you see.

Off the entry you find this beautiful living room.

This beautiful armoire is found in the dining room.

I thought I had taken a full view of the entire dining room...but I must have had a brain fart at that time.

Glad that I did captured more details of this room.

And here a few lighting samples in the house.

Love the big statement of the wooden candelier in the dining room.

More pictures of silver items and collectibles.

And if you wonder what we had for dinner,

we started with a tipical antipasto,

raw ham and cantaloupe.

Followed by a pasta dish with duck meat and red sauce.

Then salad with cold cuts, bread and a bottle of red wine.

I didn't take pictures of the food (that night)...as my husband would say...taking pictures of food is very American.

What are you considering "cheap"?

by KMP

If it's hostels you want then sorry but there aren't many in Sicily, I stayed in mostly cheapish hotels. I'm in my 20s and there weren't many travellers around that were younger than 50s and they were all (or mostly) American veterns and their wives on tours. Lots of French tourists though. Not many people speak english, it's much harder to travel w/out Italian than in the north. Trains run late most of the time. It's very beautiful there, lots of flowering trees and olive groves and old ruins. Pizza is cheap as it is all over Italy and seafood is abundant all over Sicily. The pastries are better than the geltao in Sicily (I LOVE gelato but wasn't impressed w/ the stuf I found in Sicily but the pastries I could eat forever down there no wonder I gained weight!!) Actually in whole the...

Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour Italy?

Can anyone who has used it help me, i have been looking for answers for this question online for a while.

I am going to purchase a ticket for the hop on hop off bus. The first stop is on the opposite side of town from where my hotel is, but one of the stops on the tour is at the train station right outside my hotel. So my question is can i just get on at that stop or do i have to get on at the very first stop?

Good question! I had the same problem / question in the past since I finally try one of thoose Hop On Hop Off Busses during one of my travel abroad.

As stated here:

ticket offers a perfectly planned route of Rome's major sites coupled with the absolute freedom to alight and re-board the bus or boat as you wish."

I confirm that you can Hop-on and Hop-off in every "bus stop" (and in this case also boat on the Tiber River) along the line.

Here the stops:
1. TERMINI - Largo di Villa Peretti
2. SANTA…

can hop-on and off as many times as you like aboard this open-top double-decker bus. The two tour routes are inter-connected so you can hop easily between them."
