Since you're a newbie, that you go to places with warm water and no current so you can get your diving skills down. Good places are the Florida Keys, the Florida clear springs and Crystal River area (manatees!), and some of the Caribbean resorts which have a variety of diving (Bonaire would be ideal). Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos, etc. would be great places. Mid-summer through fall is hurricane season, though. Spring is best (right now!).
Then, after you have 50 or so dives, you can try the more challenging stuff: Cozumel, Belize outer reef, Monterey Bay.
After that, the sky's the limit! Great Barrier Reef, Malaysia, Red Sea, Fiji, Galapagos, etc

Florida Resorts spring break 2012 with things for teens?

My family and i want to go to florida this year for spring break but i cant find a resort that is fairly priced and looks like nice... all of us get sick on roller-coasters orlando is not our number one destination site. But if you have stayed at a resort somewhere in florida and have had a good experience there, the recommendation would be so helpful! THANK YOU!

These are the best resorts for families. There is so much more to Florida than amusement parks. Consider Sandestin in the Panhandle. It's pretty awesome and very family friendly. Hope this helps!
